WEMS Northern Kettle / Fred

Posted by joel on May 25, 2009

Seth and I rolled the six hour solo at the wems northern kettle with lackluster results. I ended up having major issues running the crow’s in mud (as you might expect). Additionally, I had my Rohloff chain guide break due to massive mud build up on the drivetrain. Ended up calling it quits after four laps for safety and mechanical reasons. Seth and I had a great time riding and chatting throughout . wors rhinelander on May 31 – see you there.

I also had the opportunity to meet Fred (Monica and Jeff’s eight week old puppy) today. What a cutie. Photos when I get em….

Iola Bump n’ Jump

Posted by joel on May 18, 2009

This weekend was the first race of the WORS 2009. After placing well all season last year I moved up to Elite and am now a “mid-packer”. I placed 28th overall out of 59 racers and felt pretty good. This was the first time running [The Crow] up front and feel it performed quite well considering it’s low profile tred. One other bike change; I flipped my stem to be less agressive and think it helped compensate for tire change up front. For all interested, here are the [elite results].
