Hynes Family Christmas 2011
Posted by joel on December 28, 2011
It was great having everyone home for the holidays this year. Mom and Dad put together a nice party atmosphere with snack foods and cheer. The children and spouses had a good time keeping track of children and exchanging banter with the other family members. While the grandchildren enjoyed opening presents and eating Christmas snacks from grandma.

Vacationing in Puerto Aventuras
Posted by joel on December 23, 2010
Beth and I took our first extended vacation without children to Puerto Aventuras where we stayed at the [Dreams Resort]. Our time together was peaceful and relaxing. During our trip we each did a small adventure alone and then one together. For Beth’s adventure, she decided to swim with the dolphins. For my adventure, I decided to go fishing on a small charter. This first photo gallery is a few of the photos we took during the trip, including Beth’s swim with the dolphins.

Ethan Joseph and other Recent Events
Posted by joel on April 23, 2010
This post is grossly delayed so I appreciate everyone’s patience. Ethan is now nine weeks old and he has nearly doubled his weight! Everyone else in the family is doing well – Gavin, Abby, and Ethan get to stay home with the nanny which is quite nice as neighbors on both sides of the house have kids about the same age. Mom’s comment last night was, “There was five (bigger) kids in the tree and the little ones were watching from the ground.”
Outside the family scope, I recently accepted a position with Wausau Financial Systems to be a Network Administrator.
Seth and I recently pre-rode the Horribly Hilly Hundreds course which was, in fact, hilly. I recently received my bikeman clothing kit and am looking forward to the racing season this year. My schedule will consist of a mix of road and mountain races.
Training for the Mad-City marathon is progressing as well; this weekend will be my second of three twenty milers.
Thats about all for now. When I get the opportunity I need to post pix of young Ethan.

USGP Planet Bike Cyclocross
Posted by joel on September 28, 2009
I spent yesterday watching my first CX race in Sun Prairie. I rode down with Matt and Scott, the latter which raced in the Cat 2&3′s. Since I am prepping for Underdown next weekend I rode to meet Seth at his house and ride back with him. Slow going out (30 miles, 17.5 average), fast coming in (20 miles, 20.5 average) – averages skewed by the 30 mph wind gusts! Without a camera, I decided to use my BB Curve to take some video footage, which turned out rather well, considering the low resolution (see below).
Here too is the [playlist] of all my USGP recordings.
